Road trip to the stunning Watermouth Cove Weddings Venue.

Busy weekend of playing. Upton Barn & Walled Garden yesterday for the ceremony and then a road trip all the way to North Devon and Watermouth Cove Weddings today. Big playing day today. Ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast. Lots of different requests including At Last (Etta James), A Whiter Shade of Pale (Procol Harum), lots of Queen, The Greatest Showman and something a bit new to me but I loved playing it - all the hits from The Rat Pack. Great fun to play. The guests even had a sing along! Loved the variety of music this weekend. #musiciandevon #devonfiddler #weddingviolinist

‘We were so lucky to have the wonderful Richard Toomer as our violinist for our elopement wedding on July 30th 2019.

From our very first correspondence with Richard, he was so warm, professional and enthusiastic. We had a good idea of what we were after, and Richard listened and was so accommodating, even learning two new pieces for us for our day. He also had a vast repertoire for us to choose the bulk of our music from.

He played the pieces so beautifully, with his rendition of Steve Earle's Galway Girl bringing me to tears - it was just so perfect! Underlining his versatility, he played a more upbeat version of the same song later on for us all to boogie along to, and it was just fantastic. He learnt Bowie’s Magic Dance for us to exit to and he completely picked up on our enthusiasm for this song and everyone, including the registrars, boogied their way down the aisle. It was wonderful!

Richard, thank you for being part of our day and making it so special, you were fantastic! ’

‘If you need a violinist or pianist who plays everything from Coldplay to Bach then this is your man! Hugely talented but also very easy to work with. Richard already has a huge repertoire (some of which is listed on his website) but if he doesn’t know it, is super flexible and will learn any requests. It was really easy to book Richard (we dealt with Richard over email/WhatsApp) and he was quick to respond to queries.
