The Moorland Hotel Wedding Fayre

I spent the afternoon in the very beautiful surroundings of Haytor on Dartmoor. I was playing at the wedding fayre at the Moorland Hotel right opposite Haytor rocks! I took the piano, violin and electric violin and played a wide range of musical genres. It was nice to play some of the music that I dont normally get asked to play. Bohemian Rhapsody on electric violin went down very well with the locals!! Thanks to Chic Elite for hosting the wedding fayre.

‘We were so lucky to have the wonderful Richard Toomer as our violinist for our elopement wedding on July 30th 2019.

From our very first correspondence with Richard, he was so warm, professional and enthusiastic. We had a good idea of what we were after, and Richard listened and was so accommodating, even learning two new pieces for us for our day. He also had a vast repertoire for us to choose the bulk of our music from.

He played the pieces so beautifully, with his rendition of Steve Earle's Galway Girl bringing me to tears - it was just so perfect! Underlining his versatility, he played a more upbeat version of the same song later on for us all to boogie along to, and it was just fantastic. He learnt Bowie’s Magic Dance for us to exit to and he completely picked up on our enthusiasm for this song and everyone, including the registrars, boogied their way down the aisle. It was wonderful!

Richard, thank you for being part of our day and making it so special, you were fantastic! ’

Richard already has a huge repertoire (some of which is listed on his website) but if he doesn’t know it, is super flexible and will learn any requests.
