The music starts again - in Weymouth!

It was so nice to be out playing at Danielle's and Jason's wedding yesterday in Weymouth. It was Covid secure. Small and intimate ceremony in St Josephs Church in the town followed by a drinks reception in a marquee in their garden. I prepared two new pieces for the occasion. Danielle walked down to 'Feels like this' (Maisie Peters) and the happy couple exited to 'This will be an everlasting love' by Natalie Cole. Both pieces worked really well for solo violin. Although we had some rain it was a lovely gig, so nice to be playing again and the sun came out at the end of the day!

‘We were so lucky to have the wonderful Richard Toomer as our violinist for our elopement wedding on July 30th 2019.

From our very first correspondence with Richard, he was so warm, professional and enthusiastic. We had a good idea of what we were after, and Richard listened and was so accommodating, even learning two new pieces for us for our day. He also had a vast repertoire for us to choose the bulk of our music from.

He played the pieces so beautifully, with his rendition of Steve Earle's Galway Girl bringing me to tears - it was just so perfect! Underlining his versatility, he played a more upbeat version of the same song later on for us all to boogie along to, and it was just fantastic. He learnt Bowie’s Magic Dance for us to exit to and he completely picked up on our enthusiasm for this song and everyone, including the registrars, boogied their way down the aisle. It was wonderful!
