EVSQ return to Deer Park Country House.

Lovely summer wedding at the very beautiful Deer Park Country House with Exe Valley String Quartet One of our favourite venues. Unfortunately we had to play indoors because of the showers but we still had a great time playing a set of pop and rock classics. Lovely to play Gabriels Oboe for the bridal party entrance - such a beautiful piece of music - perfect for strings! #weddingquartet #WeddingMusic #exevalleystringquartet Also the ladies of the quartet got to wear their new dresses today. Very smart!

‘We were so lucky to have the wonderful Richard Toomer as our violinist for our elopement wedding on July 30th 2019.

From our very first correspondence with Richard, he was so warm, professional and enthusiastic. We had a good idea of what we were after, and Richard listened and was so accommodating, even learning two new pieces for us for our day. He also had a vast repertoire for us to choose the bulk of our music from.

He played the pieces so beautifully, with his rendition of Steve Earle's Galway Girl bringing me to tears - it was just so perfect! Underlining his versatility, he played a more upbeat version of the same song later on for us all to boogie along to, and it was just fantastic. He learnt Bowie’s Magic Dance for us to exit to and he completely picked up on our enthusiasm for this song and everyone, including the registrars, boogied their way down the aisle. It was wonderful!

Richard, thank you for being part of our day and making it so special, you were fantastic! ’

Richard already has a huge repertoire (some of which is listed on his website) but if he doesn’t know it, is super flexible and will learn any requests. It was really easy to book Richard (we dealt with Richard over email/WhatsApp) and he was quick to respond to queries.
