Plymouth to Santander Mini Cruise - April 2026. Wow! What a time we had together. Four fabulous shows, a flash mob, lots of spontaneous singing, lots of laughter, new friendships made, good food (maybe a little drink as well!). Great team work! This trip showed everyone what Rock Choir truly is - yes we are a great choir but we are so much more than that! I was immensely proud to spend the last two days with you all - you were magnificent! Feedback from the passengers was actually quite emotional and very moving! So positive! The captain of the ship even came down to listen! Lots of pictures and videos to share over the coming days but for now, a big thank you for being so awesome! Rock Choir Caroline Redman Lusher Brittany Ferries
First gig of the year. Newton Abbot Town Centre for the Saturday Shoppers. A beautiful sunny day and a fantastic audience who had a good sing with us with smiles on their faces. Well done everyone. The feedback was great and a special shout out to the new members who did their first gig today - you were brilliant. Newton Rockies - You all sounded and looked awesome! Im a very proud choir leader today! Well done!
I have had many amazing opportunities in my time with Rock Choir. BBC Proms in the Park, performing with BBC Concert Orchestra, Edinburgh Fringe, Carnegie Hall New York and now the BP Pulse Live Arena in Birmingham. What a weekend! I was fortunate enough to share the stage with Sam Ryder, Emilie Sande, Russel Watson and Caroline Redman Lusher MBE. Two shows performing to 20,000 Rockies who certainly know how to party! Performing at a gig like this is such a rewarding and uplifting experience and it leaves you on a real high as you would expect. I was so pleased to share this experience with so many of my choir members as well as my mum and dad who came along to the matinee. I wouldn't be doing what Im doing now without their love and support over the years. An all round amazing experience shared with so many lovely and amazing people. Time to get ready for the busy Christmas period.
We had a really lovely intimate local gig yesterday in the local Library to support their Christmas Fair. I love all of our gigs whether we have a choir of 100 or a choir of 30 like yesterday but there is something quite special about singing in a smaller group and seeing and hearing everyone working closely together. It sounded beautiful. Well done everyone. Next stop - BP Pulse Live Arena Birmingham with a choir of 1000’s!
Well done to Plymouth and also to the Plymouth Rockies who braved the rain last night to sing their hearts out for the official Christmas Lights Switch on in the City. It was a great evening full of singing and dancing and a real celebration of the local talent in Plymouth. Plymouth Rockies were awesome! I was so proud of you all and how professional we all look and sound. So good to get the crowds singing along as well. Hope you all got home safely and are now nice and dry. Well done everyone! The Crowne Plaza Plymouth - Part Two. This Saturday we were honoured to be a part of a big charity dinner for Pregnancy Crisis Care a local charity doing amazing work in Plymouth. We started the evening off with a flash mob of Sweet Child of Mine which took the guests by surprise. We then sang another couple of songs before leaving the guests to their dinner and a live band to dance the night away. A really lovely evening. Well done Plymouth Rockies - it's been a busy few weeks!
Abbfest 2025. What a gig! I am so proud of each and every Rockie today for singing in that weather. We did it! It was either sing in the rain or go home. Well there was no chance of going home! Respect to you all. We managed 5 songs before the sound team called the performance off! True Rockie spirit! We are made of tough stuff down here in Devon! Shout out to our rockies on their first gig today - you will never forget it that's for sure! Love you all. Hope you all got home safely and are now nice and warm! What a fantastic gig we had today in the sunshine at the amazing West End Carnival in Plymouth. A fab venue with a really great crowd and a great atmosphere. Plymouth Rockies sang out proud in their City and the feedback was just brilliant. My favourites bits of feedback today were about the smiley faces in the choir and the sheer joy that radiated around the audience while we were singing. A very happy and proud Rock Choir leader. Babbacombe Summer Fair 2025. Our first visit to this event and it didn't disappoint. It was a really lovely friendly local community event which was an honour to support. We all had a great time singing to a really good crowd and beautiful views of the sea. Well done to all the Rockies for singing in hot conditions - I think we did good! Well done to all the rockies on their first gig, you smashed it! www.rockchoir.com #torquay #newtonabbot #plymouth. The next stop is Plymouth in a couple of weeks for the West End Carnival.
Buckfast Abbey Summer Fair 2025. Always a favourite. 230 Rockies from Torquay, Newton Abbot and Plymouth all coming together to share the love, ethos and values of RockChoir. A day full of fun, love, friendship and of course lots of singing in a stunning location. Just look at the smiling faces and you can see what kind of day we had. It always makes me feel very proud to be the choir leader when I hear the wonderful sound and harmonies of everyone singing together. Well done everybody, you should all feel very proud as well. Lovely local gig today. We were invited to sing at Sefton Hall birthday celebrations this afternoon in the summer sunshine. Always a privilege to sing in our local community. Lovely to entertain the residents. #newtonabbot #Torquay #plymouth. Rock Choir Caroline Redman Lusher
Kingsteignton Ram Roasting Fair 2025. Its the first time we have performed at this event and it was a real treat. 90 rockies singing their hearts out with lots of the local community there to support us. Lots of lovely feedback. Well done everyone and a special shout out to those rockies singing at their first gig with us today! Great gig... Great performance... Great day all together. #proud #southdevonrockchoir #kingsteignton #torquay #newtonabbot Rock Choir Kingsteignton Ram Fair.
Wow! What an awesome gig that was! Over 100 Plymouth Rockies sang their hearts out in the newly refurbished Old Town Square in the heart of Plymouth City Centre. Its part of the new Saturday sessions to entertain the shoppers and visitors. The rockies were magnificent and the feedback has been incredible. Well done everyone and a special shout out to those Plymouth Rockies doing their very first gig. I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did. We also heard The Cabarats who were brilliant with their reggae, ska, funk style which was perfect for this sunny Plymouth afternoon. Thanks to Michelle for being so helpful as well. A great day. Totnes Christmas Market 2024. I don't think we will forget this gig in a hurry! Terrential rain, leaking gazebos, large white horses attacking the MD, light parades.... The Rockies were of course incredible. They sang their hearts out and smiled all the way though the gig. (Two sets as well! Must be mad!) I think its safe to say we put a smile on the face of everyone in Totnes last night with that wonderful performance. We won't mention the very soggy, very grumpy choir leader! He is ok now. merry Christmas everyone and a very Happy New Year.
Absolutely incredible! We have just finished three charity concerts in the space of a week in Torquay, Plymouth and Newton Abbot. 3 concerts, 300 singers, 3 towns, £7000 raised for local charities, over 1000 audience and one very happy and very proud musical director! The rockies should all feel so proud after singing their hearts out. They all sang with such enthusiasm and passion and emotion and they all conducted themselves with such professionalism. They really are a special group of people who help and support each other and never stop smiling! Fantastic times!
Paignton Zoo 2024. Unfortunately another damp and soggy gig for us all but that doesn't stop the rockies does it! Thank you all for being so professional in difficult weather conditions. You still managed to sing with a smile on your faces which was wonderful to see. We enjoyed ourselves didn't we? I think the monkeys did as well. Well done everyone. Next stop is our Torquay concert on Tuesday and Torbay Bay of Lights on Thursday!
Buckfast Abbey Christmas Fair 2024. Well that is a gig that will last long in the memory. It started to rain in the first song and didn't stop for the whole set. The South Devon Rockies still did a fabulous job and sang so well that the large audience stayed and sang and danced in the rain with us! We must all be mad! Great day. Well done everyone, I hope you have all dried off now. Next stop is Paignton Zoo on Sunday.
Just returned from our first gig at Abbfest having had a really lovely morning singing for the crowds. This will hopefully become an annual gig for us now. Thank you to all of the rockies who came to sing and those who came to watch, you were awesome and the feedback was so positive. A lovely way to spend a Saturday morning. Lovely bank holiday wedding at the very beautiful Huntsham Court Country House, Devon. Day out with the Exe Valley String Quartet. The weather stayed dry although a bit windy. We played 'Wildest Dreams' from Bridgerton for the entrance of the bridal party, Mama Mia and 'Habits' for the signing of the register and we played out the guests with 'Firework' by Katy Perry. We even got to play some rock songs for the brides father, Sweet Child of Mine and Back in Black by ACDC! First of two very different gigs this bank holiday weekend. Off to Plymouth the Rock Choir tomorrow.
