Plymouth Armed Forces day 2025. This has become a real highlight for Plymouth Rockies. We have so many connections with the armed forces so to be able to sing at this event in the big arena every year is a real honour and privilege. We are all very proud to be able to give something back. The choir were awesome! Plymouth Rockies take a bow, you sounded fantastic and you looked very smart and very professional. well done everyone.
Plymouth Race for Life 2025. One of our favourite gigs of the summer season. Over 100 Plymouth Rockies singing and cheering the runners and walkers for nearly two hours! I think we got through about 20 songs today. Wow! We even sang a snippet of the elusive 'Shake it Off'. Shout out to those rockies on their first gig - you were awesome. You all sounded wonderful this morning and I know that the Race for Life team really appreciate us being there and so do the runners and walkers. Massive well done to you all. Rock Choir Caroline Redman Lusher #plymouth. What a great Rock Choir weekend!
Wow! What an awesome gig that was! Over 100 Plymouth Rockies sang their hearts out in the newly refurbished Old Town Square in the heart of Plymouth City Centre. Its part of the new Saturday sessions to entertain the shoppers and visitors. The rockies were magnificent and the feedback has been incredible. Well done everyone and a special shout out to those Plymouth Rockies doing their very first gig. I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did. We also heard The Cabarats who were brilliant with their reggae, ska, funk style which was perfect for this sunny Plymouth afternoon. Thanks to Michelle for being so helpful as well. A great day. IvyBridge Christmas Market 2024. Always a festive and community feel to this event. Lots of people there including lots of Rockies coming to support each other. The new songs sound amazing and I can't tell you how many people stopped me afterwards to say how wonderful the choir was. Well done everyone who came along. A great way to kick off the Christmas season. Miss Ivy Events Rock Choir
We had a lovely evening singing at the Tavistock Town Hall last night. It was a concert in conjunction with Tavistock Lions in front of a full house in aid of local charities. The Plymouth Rockies did us all proud and sang with real energy and emotion. It was a really great night and the feedback has been really positive. Thanks to everyone who came, fab Friday night followed by chips in the pub afterwards! Rock Choir Caroline Redman Lusher. #plymouth
First time performing at the Family Fun Day in Plymouth. Nice community gig singing to lots of lovely people. They loved hearing us and joining in. Well done to the Plymouth Rockies for a thoroughly professional performance. We had to deal with high winds, heavy showers, an outdoor acoustic, a dog show (which was really cute). Sounded awesome and we had lots of positive feedback. There was lots of food and drink stalls at the event and I tried a vegan sausage roll for the very first time. (Sorry guys, I wasn't convinced!) Thank you to the Newton Abbot Rockies and Dawlish/Teignmouth Rockies who came along in their tee shirts to support. It was lovely to see you and a big heart felt thank you for being there. #plymouth #newtonabbot #torquay #dawlish #teignmouth.
Awesome day with my Plymouth Rockies. Race for Life 2024. Always a privilege to support this event. 95 Rockies singing and cheering for a good 2 hours in very hot conditions. Hard Core Rockies!! Well done to those doing their 1st gig with us. You were all awesome. Well done to everyone! #plymouth Plymouth Race for Life Rock Choir
Plymouth December 2nd 2023. The first of four sell out charity Christmas shows in South Devon. A great first show in front of a lively and appreciative packed audience of well over 500. The Plymouth rockies were on fire and sang brilliantly. The programme included a mix of Rock Choir classics like 'Sweet child of mine' and 'Going Loco down in Acapulco' and Christmas belters like 'I wish it could be Christmas everyday. £3000 raised for local charities. Great night. Next stop... Torquay on Monday.
Gig number three this weekend - certainly a challenge for all concerned. Plympton Christmas Fair - Singing in the rain! Well done to everyone for singing so well and with such professionalism. The small audience very much appreciated the show. Well done everyone and a special well done to those Plymouth Rockies singing at their first gig today! You were fabulous. I hope that you have all dried out now!
What a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning. Our Plymouth Rockies supported this amazing event in Central park. We sang lots of our favourite songs, danced, clapped and cheered as the participants ran by. This event is like the Race for Life but with some added obstacles, water and mud! We all stayed dry and clean though and had a very rewarding time together. Onto the summer workshops now!
Lovely day with my Plymouth Rockies having a 'catch up' day. Lots and lots of singing! We went through Hold on, Bridge Over Troubled Water, I just haven't met you yet, Shine, She will be loved, This is me and Super Trouper. I think we are all a bit tired now but we feel great after an uplifting day together. Thank you all for working so hard. See you Tuesday!
RACE FOR LIFE - PLYMOUTH 2022. Always a very special and highly emotional gig. Very rewarding and a lovely event to be invited to sing at. Well done to Plymouth Rockies and a few visiting Saltash Rockies as well. Great place to sing with lovely views. Thanks Harrison for the pictures.
After a thoroughly rewarding three years I am stepping down from being leader for the Saltash Rock Choir. We have had three fabulous years together and I am so proud to be leaving the choir in such a strong position. On Saturday we had our final gig together. It happens to also be one of my favourite Christmas gigs as well. The Christmas festival in beautiful Polperro. There is always a great atmosphere and a great crowd in Polperro. (I think the mulled wine helps!) We always finish off the evening with a singing party. A great gig!
I had another absolutley stunning Rock Choir experience on Saturday. We sang at the regatta, right by the waters edge with the amazing Tamar Bridge in the background. The sun was shining and the crowds turned out in their hundreds. Members of Saltash and Plymouth Rock Choirs sang their hearts out on the stage. It sounded amazing!! Well done everybody.
