Beautiful Sing at Buckfast Abbey Summer Fete.

August 5th 2022 - Buckfast Abbey Summer fair. Fantastic gig at the most beautiful of venues. A hidden gem in South Devon for sure. Over 100 rockies came together to sing to a really appreciative audience who joined in with the singing and the dancing. The South Devon Rockies were on top form. Another day where I go home uplifted, very happy and very proud to be a rock choir leader. Rock Choir Caroline Redman Lusher Buckfast Abbey. Rockies - What was your favourite part of the day?

‘We were so lucky to have the wonderful Richard Toomer as our violinist for our elopement wedding on July 30th 2019.

From our very first correspondence with Richard, he was so warm, professional and enthusiastic. We had a good idea of what we were after, and Richard listened and was so accommodating, even learning two new pieces for us for our day. He also had a vast repertoire for us to choose the bulk of our music from.

He played the pieces so beautifully, with his rendition of Steve Earle's Galway Girl bringing me to tears - it was just so perfect! Underlining his versatility, he played a more upbeat version of the same song later on for us all to boogie along to, and it was just fantastic. He learnt Bowie’s Magic Dance for us to exit to and he completely picked up on our enthusiasm for this song and everyone, including the registrars, boogied their way down the aisle. It was wonderful!

Richard, thank you for being part of our day and making it so special, you were fantastic! ’

‘If you need a violinist or pianist who plays everything from Coldplay to Bach then this is your man! Hugely talented but also very easy to work with. Richard already has a huge repertoire (some of which is listed on his website) but if he doesn’t know it, is super flexible and will learn any requests. It was really easy to book Richard (we dealt with Richard over email/WhatsApp) and he was quick to respond to queries. Feedback from guests was superb - I will never forget standing in the sunshine listening to Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’! A huge thank you and couldn’t recommend Richard more. ’
