A beautiful autumnal wedding at the very lovely Rockbeare Manor. Always love playing here. Beautiful venue with really lovely staff. I played for 20 mins before the ceremony as the guests took their seats and then there was a lovely moment. The grooms two boys had recorded a message for him before they came into the ceremony room which was followed by a message from his wife to be. I was asked to play 'I can't help falling in love' quietly in the background of these messages which worked really well. There wasn't a dry eye in the room! After the ceremony I played for an hour while everyone had a drink and a catch up. This included two brand new arrangements 'Dancing in the Moonlight' and 'Mr Brightside'. We got the party started! A nice summer gig at National Trust Killerton last night in the summer sunshine. This time Exe Valley String Quartet went out as a trio with two violins and a cello to play a few pop and rock tunes while a large group of teachers had a BBQ to celebrate the end of term. Congratulations to Chloe and Shaban for your beautiful wedding yesterday at the gorgeous Deer Park Country House. The sun shone and the ceremony at the summer house was very romantic. My versatility as a violinist was challenged as amongst the music requests were 'flashing Lights' by Kanye West, 'I get the sweetest Feeling' by J Wilson, 'The Only Exception' by Paramore and 'It Must Be Love' by Madness.
