Sunday 28th July - Dawlish Lawn/Band Stand. A lovely Sunday summer afternoon in beautiful Dawlish. Live music featuring the wonderful Torbay Brass Band the the South Devon Rockies. The rockies were again on top form as we performed two sets to a lovely appreciative audience. Our new songs went down really well. Love my rockies very much - always sound and look very professional even in hot conditions like today. Respect!

Saturday 27th July 2024 - our debut appearance at the Bovey Tracey Party in the Park. What a great gig. A traditional Devon event where families bring a picnic and are entertained all day and night by local musicians, groups and bands. Stalls and food and drinks and things for the kids to do. The weather was kind and 100 South Devon Rockies were bang in form as we sang to a good crowd of over 1000 people! Can we come back next year please!

Plymouth Armed Forces Day 2024. I am feeling very proud today after another fantastic performance at Armed Forces Day in Plymouth. You all look so smart and thank you so much for your patience with lining up and getting all the little details just right. It makes a huge difference. What a ten days it has been.  Four Rock Choir shows all sold out.  280 choir members performed in front of a collective audience of over 1000 people. We have raised the best part of £7500 for local charities that are close to the hearts of the choir members. It has been an absolute pleasure to sing in such beautiful venues with great acoustics in front of wonderful audiences. All four Rock Choirs really stepped up to the mark and performed brilliantly and with such life, vigour, excitement and emotion.  Top job!  I really do have the best job in the world.

Totnes Christmas Market 2023. Totnes is a very special town in South Devon that creates it's own wonderful unique atmosphere all year around but particularly at Christmas. We love singing in Totnes. Plymouth December 2nd 2023.  The first of four sell out charity Christmas shows in South Devon. A great first show in front of a lively and appreciative packed audience of well over 500. The Plymouth rockies were on fire and sang brilliantly.  The programme included a mix of Rock Choir classics like 'Sweet child of mine' and 'Going Loco down in Acapulco' and Christmas belters like 'I wish it could be Christmas everyday. £3000 raised for local charities.  Great night.  Next stop... Torquay on Monday.

Gig number three this weekend - certainly a challenge for all concerned. Plympton Christmas Fair - Singing in the rain! Well done to everyone for singing so well and with such professionalism. A big Rock Choir weekend this weekend. Saturday night, gig 2 - Teignmouth Christmas Lights 2023. Always a lovely gig with a very appreciative crowd. The weather was kind and festive. Teignmouth Rockies - you did us all proud. You sounded awesome and looked very smart and professional. What a great way to end our very busy summer of gigs all over South Devon. This was our first visit to Goodrington for the Lions Charity Fun Day. The South Devon Rockies were on top form as they have been all summer. We coped admirably with a bit of rain as we lined up and guess what happened when we start to sing? Dawlish Carnival 2023. This has to be one of our favourites gigs in the summer calendar. Always a special atmosphere in the town. Our South Devon Rockies were on fire today and sounded brilliant. Apparently we could be heard down by the sea! Buckfast Summer Fair 2023. What a fantastic afternoon that was. Buckfast Abbey is a gorgeous Devon venue with lovely helpful staff. There was a huge audience today who really appreciated our singing. I absolutely loved conducting you all today and I think we all gave it 100%. Great gig. South Devon Rockies take a bow! Great community gig - just what Rock Choir is all about!

What a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning. Our Plymouth Rockies supported this amazing event in Central park. We sang lots of our favourite songs, danced, clapped and cheered as the participants ran by. This event is like the Race for Life but with some added obstacles, water and mud! We all stayed dry and clean though and had a very rewarding time together. Onto the summer workshops now!

Teignmouth Airshow 2023. What a great gig we had yesterday at the Teignmouth Airshow. Great atmosphere on the Den and the Teignmouth Rock Choir where fantastic. What a great sound. Lots of great feedback from the crowd and well done with our new songs - I think that they went down really well! Special shout out to Pam, Wendy, Jeanne on your first gig with Rock Choir. You were amazing!  Four gigs in three days - Loved them all but glad they are all over now!

What a great way to start the brand new summer term. We love singing at the MaltingsFest and there is always a great crowd and great atmosphere. 90 rockies came together today with no rehearsals after five weeks Easter holiday and were brilliant. Exclusively Elvis Vocal Workshop March 4th 2023. Jailhouse Rock, I can't help falling in love with you, Burning Love. I love these workshops because we start from nothing and leave a few hours later with this wonderful arrangement of songs in three and four part harmony. A great achievement from all involved. What a great way to start a Saturday. What shall we do next? 60 Rockies from all over Devon.  It's always lovely to join up together and work with Vikki and her members.  Great day!

We have just lead a short 'come and have a try' session in Newton Abbot Library. We had a really lovely afternoon singing within our local community. Small and intimate gigs are really enjoyable. We sang some of our songs and then we asked the audience to join us in a few of our unique 'warm ups'. What a fabulous experience that was. The excitement of travelling to London and going behind the scenes at Virgin Radio UK. The Chris Evans Breakfast Show Singing LIVE on radio was a little scary but totally exhilarating and so nice to be in amongst all those close harmonies with the band! Chris Evans is a great guy and looked after us really well. I have such variety in my job/work whether that be with Rock Choir or playing the violin.  Its a priviledge and I feel very grateful for all the opportunities I now get in the music business!

Really lovely final gig of this busy festive season. We sing at the Mayors Carol service in Newton Abbot every year and every year this event gets better and better. Nice to entertain the locals in our local community and lead the audience in the traditional carols. Merry Christmas to rockies everywhere and especially to my amazing South Devon Rockies!
