We had a lovely evening singing at the Tavistock Town Hall last night. It was a concert in conjunction with Tavistock Lions in front of a full house in aid of local charities. The Plymouth Rockies did us all proud and sang with real energy and emotion. It was a really great night and the feedback has been really positive. Just returned from our first gig at Abbfest having had a really lovely morning singing for the crowds. This will hopefully become an annual gig for us now. First time performing at the Family Fun Day in Plymouth. Nice community gig singing to lots of lovely people. They loved hearing us and joining in. Well done to the Plymouth Rockies for a thoroughly professional performance. We had to deal with high winds, heavy showers, an outdoor acoustic, a dog show (which was really cute). Sounded awesome and we had lots of positive feedback. There was lots of food and drink stalls at the event and I tried a vegan sausage roll for the very first time. (Sorry guys, I wasn't convinced!) Thank you to the Newton Abbot Rockies and Dawlish/Teignmouth Rockies who came along in their tee shirts to support. To round off a fabulous Rock Choir couple of weeks we came back to Dawlish like we do every August to sing at the Dawlish Celebrates Carnival. Friday August 2nd 2024. What a great way to end the week. 190 South Devon Rockies singing today outside the iconic Buckfast Abbey. We had a really appreciative and large crowd come over to watch and listen and I can't tell you all how proud it makes me feel when I hear the amazing feedback from the friends and family listening to us. Huge shout out to the rockies on their first gig today - you were brilliant. Next stop.....Edinburgh fringe!

Sunday 28th July - Dawlish Lawn/Band Stand. A lovely Sunday summer afternoon in beautiful Dawlish. Live music featuring the wonderful Torbay Brass Band the the South Devon Rockies. The rockies were again on top form as we performed two sets to a lovely appreciative audience. Our new songs went down really well. Love my rockies very much - always sound and look very professional even in hot conditions like today. Respect!

Saturday 27th July 2024 - our debut appearance at the Bovey Tracey Party in the Park. What a great gig. A traditional Devon event where families bring a picnic and are entertained all day and night by local musicians, groups and bands. Stalls and food and drinks and things for the kids to do. The weather was kind and 100 South Devon Rockies were bang in form as we sang to a good crowd of over 1000 people! Can we come back next year please!

What a ten days it has been.  Four Rock Choir shows all sold out.  280 choir members performed in front of a collective audience of over 1000 people. We have raised the best part of £7500 for local charities that are close to the hearts of the choir members. It has been an absolute pleasure to sing in such beautiful venues with great acoustics in front of wonderful audiences. All four Rock Choirs really stepped up to the mark and performed brilliantly and with such life, vigour, excitement and emotion.  Top job!  I really do have the best job in the world.

Totnes Christmas Market 2023. Totnes is a very special town in South Devon that creates it's own wonderful unique atmosphere all year around but particularly at Christmas. We love singing in Totnes. A big Rock Choir weekend this weekend. Saturday night, gig 2 - Teignmouth Christmas Lights 2023. Always a lovely gig with a very appreciative crowd. The weather was kind and festive. What a great way to end our very busy summer of gigs all over South Devon. This was our first visit to Goodrington for the Lions Charity Fun Day. The South Devon Rockies were on top form as they have been all summer. We coped admirably with a bit of rain as we lined up and guess what happened when we start to sing? Dawlish Carnival 2023. This has to be one of our favourites gigs in the summer calendar. Always a special atmosphere in the town. Our South Devon Rockies were on fire today and sounded brilliant. Apparently we could be heard down by the sea! Buckfast Summer Fair 2023. What a fantastic afternoon that was. Buckfast Abbey is a gorgeous Devon venue with lovely helpful staff. There was a huge audience today who really appreciated our singing. I absolutely loved conducting you all today and I think we all gave it 100%. Great gig. South Devon Rockies take a bow! Great community gig - just what Rock Choir is all about!

What a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning. Our Plymouth Rockies supported this amazing event in Central park. We sang lots of our favourite songs, danced, clapped and cheered as the participants ran by. This event is like the Race for Life but with some added obstacles, water and mud! We all stayed dry and clean though and had a very rewarding time together. Onto the summer workshops now!

Great gig in the lovely Devon village Abbotskerswell. We had a lovely time singing and supporting the local primary school and local community. The weather stayed dry and the rockies enjoyed a bit of country dancing with the band. We all had a great day together and the singing was fantastic!
